EasyJet Announces New Routes to Kittilä from Milan and Paris for Winter 2024

Airlines & Airports

EasyJet is set to enhance its winter travel offerings by launching two new scheduled flights from Milan and Paris to Kittilä Airport in November 2024, adding to the growing number of routes to Lapland.

New Routes to Kittilä

Starting in November 2024, EasyJet will operate new routes from Milan Malpensa Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Kittilä, a popular winter destination in Finnish Lapland. These flights will operate twice weekly, with the Milan route running on Wednesdays and Sundays from November 20, 2024, to March 26, 2025, and the Paris route on Thursdays and Sundays from November 21, 2024, to March 23, 2025.

Expanding International Reach

With the addition of these routes, EasyJet will offer a total of 19 direct international connections to Lapland Airports during the upcoming winter season. This includes existing routes from London Gatwick and Manchester to Kittilä, as well as 15 routes, including six new ones, to Rovaniemi Airport.

Lapland's Growing Appeal

Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President of Route Development at Finavia, highlighted the significance of these new connections: "EasyJet offers 19 direct routes from seven different countries to our Lapland Airports. This figure shows the international appeal of Lapland as a travel destination. Routes with regular scheduled flights, which we negotiate with airlines and our partners, are extremely important for Lapland's connectivity. Thanks to these routes, the record growth in tourism in Lapland will continue in the future."

Boosting Winter Tourism in Lapland

The expansion of EasyJet's routes to Kittilä and Rovaniemi underscores the growing global interest in Lapland as a prime winter destination. Known for its stunning natural landscapes, Northern Lights, and unique cultural experiences, Lapland continues to attract tourists from across Europe and beyond. The new routes are expected to further boost the region's tourism industry, providing easier access for travelers looking to experience the magic of Lapland during the winter months.

With these new flights, EasyJet strengthens its position as a key airline connecting European travelers to one of the most sought-after winter destinations in the world.
