Emirates Paints UAE Flag Across A380 in National Unity Tribute

Emirates has unveiled a striking new livery featuring a large UAE flag painted across the fuselage of one of its Airbus A380s, in a bold visual tribute to the nation's unity and resilience during a period of recent challenges.

The special aircraft, registered A6-EVG, carries the UAE flag's colours in a three-dimensional design that drapes across both sides of the fuselage — an extension of the airline's existing tail design, scaled up dramatically to cover the world's largest commercial passenger aircraft.

The livery is part of Emirates' 'This Flag Will Always Fly' campaign, launched in response to a nationwide call by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, urging citizens and residents to raise the flag as a shared symbol of national pride and cohesion.

The aircraft has already flown to New York and Brisbane, and Emirates says it will operate to more destinations across the A380 network, making the flag visible from runways, skies, and cities around the world. Plans are also underway to apply a similar flag design to an Emirates Boeing 777.

Emirates Chairman and CEO HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said the livery is the airline's way of honouring a home that has given it so much, describing the sky as the greatest stage for the UAE flag and flying it as Emirates' greatest privilege.

Special liveries are not new territory for Emirates. In 2017, the airline applied bespoke designs to mark the Year of Zayed, featuring the late founding father HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on its 100th A380, and later launched 40 aircraft in Expo 2020 Dubai livery. The flag A380 follows in that tradition of using the fleet as a canvas for moments of national significance.
