Expo City Dubai To Provide Free Admission To All Pavilions
As part of its celebration of International Museum Day on May 19, Expo City Dubai is inviting people to visit its major pavilions without charging an admission fee.
In addition, the location will offer specially curated educational events as well as a treasure hunt that will span seven different activities, all of which will be centred on the topic of 'Museums, Sustainability, and Well-being' that was chosen as a theme for this year's celebrations.
The offerings made available by Expo City include Alif – The Mobility Pavilion, Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, The Women's and Vision Pavilions, and all three of the Stories of Nations Pavilions. Free admission is being offered starting on May 19, the day following the annual celebration of International Museum Day (May 18).
Co-hosted by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and Terra, the climate-related film screenings will be supplemented with guided tours, interactive storytelling, physical theatre workshops, and a "tinker table" for hands-on experimentation and discovery. Visitors of all ages may participate in creative activities in the Women's and Vision Pavilions, while curious minds can construct robot hands using Legos as well as discover the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, and many more.
The International Council of Museums (ICOM) initiated the celebration of International Museum Day in 1977, and since then, it has honoured a variety of topics annually, while shifting its attention to the Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular emphasis on the work museums do in this area via their exhibits, educational programming, and engagement with the local community and through scholarly inquiry.
Expo City Dubai, which will be the hosting venue of COP28 in November 2023, is a model for environmentally responsible city development and is dedicated to the preservation of the natural world. This is accomplished in part via the implementation of programs that educate guests about the effects their actions have on the wider world and encourage them to play a part in the protection of the planet.
This coming Friday, visitors may take part in activities including robot hand construction and a treasure hunts, so invite your friends to Expo City Dubai for a memorable and sustainable educational experience.
