Gatwick Greets New British Airways Services to Porto
Airline News
Gatwick is celebrating the introduction of British Airways' new direct flights to Porto.

The Portuguese city, renowned for its UNESCO-protected city centre and fortified wine, will start servicing the new addition starting February 2016.
The four times a week flights are moving to Gatwick from Heathrow, as well as a doubling in frequency from two to four in a move which will increase the number of available destinations for its customers.
"Porto is a real cultural capital, covering both sides of the Rio Douro, and offers visitors an excellent place for a weekend getaway," said Lynne Embleton, British Airways’ managing director at Gatwick.
"From its unique rooftop vistas, with baroque buildings, bags of atmosphere and abundant local port wine cellars at every turn, it's not difficult to see why Porto continues to entice travellers and make Portugal's second city a must-see destination."
The new British Airways destination is set to be introduced to Gatwick's timetable on February 11th, 2016.
In the winter months there will be four weekly service, while in the summer season an increase in frequencies is expected, the number rising to six times weekly.
This new addition is the latest in a range of new holiday-friendly routes taking off from Gatwick, including to destinations such as to Madeira, Cagliari and Seville.
Flights to Valencia, Vienna and Sharm El Sheikh, will also start later in the year, while new long-haul route to Costa Rica will be introduced next year.
