Kruger Lowveld Tourism and Shout Media have pleasure in announcing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.
Kruger Lowveld Tourism and Shout Media have pleasure in announcing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations. This MOU constitutes the formalisation of a partnership to roll out and maintain a network of digital tourism information kiosks through out the region. Lisa Sheard, Chairperson of Kruger Lowveld Tourism confirms, “These information kiosks will significantly increase our digital footprint and improve the access and availability of tourism information for visitors to our area as well as nationally”. The kiosks will operate as unmanned visitor information centers or virtual information offices and are available for visitors to use 24 hours a day. “These kiosks are another means by which Kruger Lowveld Tourism is able to fulfill its strategy of delivering integrated visitor services to tourists or potential tourist to the region”, says Sheard.

These state of the art touch screens and LCD screens are designed to be aesthetically pleasing and user friendly. According to John McIntyre of Shout Media, the great advantage of these kiosks is that they do not need to be staffed and the information content on the kiosks will be updated on a daily basis via the Shout Media network.

Not only are these kiosks eye-catching and attractively co-branded with Kruger Lowveld and Shout Media images and logos, they are also located at high visitor/tourist traffic areas. There are currently 20 information kiosks located through out our region with more planned for the near future. This network forms part of a national network of 160 information kiosks countrywide, located in the Western and Eastern Cape, KZN and Gauteng. Information on these kiosks is available on a national level and not limited to the geographic location of the kiosks only. In other words you can look for accommodation in the Kruger Lowveld region from one of the units at Cape Town International Airport. This network will be expanded into Mozambique towards the end of 2012.

As part of this new agreement between Kruger Lowveld Tourism and Shout Media, all paid up members of Kruger Lowveld Tourism have been loaded onto the network as a basic listing (name and contact details) free of charge.
