Lufthansa City Airlines, the latest addition to the Lufthansa Group, began its operations on June 26, 2024, with its inaugural flight from Munich to Birmingham. This marks the start of a new chapter in the European short and medium-haul aviation segment.

First Flight to Birmingham
The first flight, VL2508, took off from Munich at 09:10 a.m. local time using an Airbus A320neo, known for its efficiency and modern design. This flight introduces passengers to the Lufthansa City Airlines experience, promising comfort and reliability.
Expansion of Routes
Starting July 23, the airline will deploy its second aircraft, an Airbus A319, to additional destinations including Berlin, Hamburg, and Bordeaux. The expansion aligns with the airline's strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe.

Lufthansa City Airlines is set to expand its fleet significantly, starting with the addition of more Airbus A320 family aircraft. By next year, the fleet will include at least eight more A320neo and several A319s.
