Ned Doha, the first outpost of the luxury hotel and members' club chain Ned, has opened in Qatar
The Ned, a hotel and private members' club, opened its doors in London in 2017; the Ned NoMad, its second New York site, opened in 2022.
The Ned Doha, the first property in the Middle East, also launched this year.
Gareth Banner, group managing director of The Ned, declared about the new hotel:
“Five years after launching The Ned in London, we are delighted to open in Doha. We are really excited to occupy one of the city’s most architecturally significant buildings, comprising a hotel, multiple restaurants and its own private members’ club. We look forward to providing our guests and members with a distinct experience, welcoming them to stay, connect, eat and have a good time.”
The Ned Doha is an upscale hotel with a sweeping view of the Arabian Gulf and the cityscape of Doha. It offers 90 guest rooms and suites, six dinning venues, a pool and club lounge, a private gym with a spa and a brand-new event area ideal for hosting weddings, corporate workshops, and other large gatherings. A platform for concerts is positioned underneath the atrium, which is flanked by a variety of eateries and beautiful green marble from the Greek island of Tinos, a nod to The Ned's original London location.
Art is also more than welcomed at the hotel. More than half of the artists included in the Ned Doha's permanent collection are from Doha, and of them, approximately three quarters are women. The central position and sleek design of the building served as an influence for several of the exhibition's featured artists.
The building's exterior was created in the 1960s by Lebanese architect William Sednaoui, while the inside was designed by Soho House Design and David Chipperfield Architects of London.
The Ned Doha has opened its doors for guests at the end of November 2022.
