Air Canada Debuts Direct Vancouver-Singapore Route, Its Longest Flight Yet

Air Canada has officially launched its direct flight service from Vancouver to Singapore, setting a new record for the airline's longest route by distance. The inaugural flight, covering 12,818 kilometers (7,965 miles), now connects Canada directly to Singapore, Southeast Asia's bustling economic and financial hub. This strategic route expansion is part of Air Canada's broader efforts to enhance its Pacific hub at Vancouver, offering seamless connections to Asia and strengthening economic ties.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President at Air Canada, highlighted the significance of this new service, emphasizing Singapore's role as a crucial gateway for travel to Southeast Asia, Southern India, and Western Australia. The partnership with Singapore Airlines underlines the route's potential for extensive connection options for travelers.

The Honourable Jagrup Brar, Minister of State for Trade of British Columbia, underscored the boundless opportunities the direct flight presents for business collaboration, travel, and tourism, benefiting not only Singapore and Southeast Asia but also British Columbia and Canada.

YVR President and CEO, Tamara Vrooman, recognized the route's economic impact, generating $18 million in economic output and fostering increased trade, tourism, and personal connections across the Pacific region. The Singapore Tourism Board's Rachel Loh expressed enthusiasm for the increased connectivity the Vancouver-Singapore route brings, inviting travelers to explore Singapore's attractions, cultural experiences, and events, including the F1 Grand Prix.

The Vancouver-Singapore route operates with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins. The service highlights Air Canada's commitment to exceptional culinary experiences, with menus designed by celebrity chefs and a selection of top wines.
