ANA Reconnects Vienna and Tokyo

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has reinstated its non-stop flight service between Vienna and Tokyo Haneda Airport starting today, August 2, 2024. The route, served by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will operate three times a week, year-round. The service had been suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but has now resumed, marking a significant milestone for both the airline and Vienna Airport.

Official Inauguration and Future Prospects

The flight service was officially inaugurated today with a ceremony attended by key figures, including Katsuhiro Suzuki, ANA General Manager Austria, and Maria Petalidou, ANA Head of Joint Venture EMEA and Area Manager for Germany, Austria, Italy, and Poland. Belina Neumann, Head of Aviation Development of Flughafen Wien AG, also participated in the photo session marking the event.

“The Vienna-Tokyo Haneda route was opened on February 17, 2019, and has enjoyed great popularity. We are delighted that this important route is part of our global network once again,” said Katsuhiro Suzuki, General Manager of ANA in Vienna.

Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details

ANA will operate non-stop flights from Vienna to Tokyo every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. The flight departs from Tokyo at 10:45 p.m. local time, arriving in Vienna at 6:20 a.m. the next day. The return flight leaves Vienna at 11:25 a.m. and arrives in Tokyo at 6:55 a.m. the following day.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner used for this route features 215 seats across three booking classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. This aircraft promises a comfortable and pleasant travel experience.

Enhanced Travel Experience and Future Events

Tokyo, one of Asia’s top travel destinations, offers a blend of modern architecture, premier shopping, diverse culinary options, and traditional cultural sights, making it an attractive destination for travelers.

With the return of this flight service, both Vienna and Tokyo anticipate a boost in tourism and business travel. The upcoming World Exposition Expo 2025 in Osaka is expected to further enhance travel interest.

By reinstating the Vienna to Tokyo route, ANA reaffirms its commitment to providing convenient and high-quality travel options, while strengthening ties between Japan and Europe.
