As Carnival In Jamaica Begins, You're Invited To The Island's Greatest Celebration

After a three-year absence, Jamaica's annual Carnival returns to Ocho Rios and Kingston, giving party goers the chance to once again partake in the full carnival experience. On April 16th, the roadways of Kingston will play host to the primary event, the Road March.
During the cultural festival, you can expect to see a plethora of brightly coloured, eye-catching costumes, entrancing music, and hot street food booths.
Joining a Mas Band is the finest way to get fully immersed in the festivities. Mas bands, an abbreviation for "masquerade bands," are a major component of the Carnival experience. Masqueraders choose extravagant costumes replete with feathers, glitter, and bright colours to celebrate the holiday.
The Mas Bands of each year will have a unique outfit and concept. Each group has its own traditions and customs, but participating in Carnival as a whole is the most rewarding experience possible.
Attendees will let free and dance to upbeat Caribbean music styles including reggae, dancehall, soca, and calypso. Thousands of people from all over the world, as well as those who live on the island, gather to celebrate Jamaica's vibrant culture.
There are parties and fetes for a whole week leading up to funfair as part of the build-up festivities, beginning on April 13 with the Black 2 Blue Morning Party and ending on April 17 with the XS Sunset Beach Cool Down.
