Azamara Cruises Unveils Summer 2026 Europe Itineraries with Solar Eclipse Sailings

Cruise Lines & Cruise Ships

Azamara Cruises, known for its small-ship, immersive travel experiences, has unveiled its 2026 summer sailings, featuring 77 new itineraries across Europe. The lineup includes an exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: three solar eclipse cruises in August 2026. These unique sailings will take place aboard Azamara Journey®, Azamara Quest®, and Azamara Onward®.

Solar Eclipse Cruises in August 2026

Azamara is offering guests the chance to witness the awe-inspiring solar eclipse from the sea on the following cruises:

  • August 2, 2026: 11-night Mediterranean Cruise (Greece, Turkey, Italy) aboard Azamara Onward®.
  • August 7, 2026: 12-night Ireland Intensive Cruise (Belfast, Dublin, Galway) aboard Azamara Quest®.
  • August 8, 2026: 18-night Iceland and Canada Cruise (Reykjavik, St. John, Quebec City) aboard Azamara Journey®.

“We are thrilled to offer our guests this rare and exciting opportunity to experience a solar eclipse at sea,” said Michael Pawlus, Head of Itinerary Planning at Azamara Cruises.

New Maiden Ports for 2026

In 2026, Azamara will introduce five new ports, only accessible by smaller ships, enhancing its Destination Immersion® experiences. These new ports are:

  • Sarande, Albania
  • Fredericia, Denmark
  • Turku, Finland
  • Menton, France
  • Karlskrona, Sweden

These destinations allow Azamara guests to explore hidden gems and less-traveled ports.

Pre- and Post-Cruise Land Programs

Azamara will also debut new pre- and post-cruise land programs, offering in-depth experiences in Iceland and the Mediterranean. Notable offerings include:

Icelandic Highlands, Reykjavik, Iceland

A 3-night immersive program showcasing Iceland’s natural wonders such as Gullfoss Waterfall, Kerid Crater, and a hike in the Kerlingarfjöll Highlands. Guests will also enjoy the Secret Lagoon and a visit to Thingvellir National Park, part of the UNESCO-listed Golden Circle.

Ancient Wonders of Egypt & Greece, Athens, Greece

This 3-night program explores the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Greece, with highlights including the Great Pyramids of Giza, a Nile River dinner cruise, and visits to Cape Sounion and the Acropolis in Athens.

A Focus on Europe and Extended Stays

Azamara’s 2026 itineraries will feature extended stays in popular European destinations such as Greece, Ireland, and the British Isles. The cruise line’s small-ship focus allows for longer stays, ensuring guests have ample time to fully immerse themselves in each destination’s culture and history.

“With three ships in Europe from March to October 2026, we can offer more options than ever before,” said Pawlus. “Our focus is on delivering unforgettable, immersive travel experiences.”

Guests can begin booking these exciting new itineraries and land programs starting this fall.
