‘The Big Apple’ now hosts Marriott’s tallest hotel in North America

New York is now the home of Marriott’s 378 room Courtyard hotel and 261 suite Residence Inn hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The new addition to NY’s skyline spans 68 storey tall, making it the tallest of its kind in North America. You can find it at 1717 Broadway. Constructing such a complex single-use hotel has its costs. In this case, the total amount spent for the construction summed approximately $320 million.
However, it will be a dual-branded hotel as it is built and owned by G Holdings and managed by Interstate Hotels and Resorts. The estimated number of employees for this location is up to 160 in the New York area.
In terms of tourist attraction level, aside from its highly regarded brand, it is set on a splendid location, very close to Central Park and Times Square. Other nearby locations are Carnegie Hall, the Broadway Theater District, Fifth Avenue, RockefellerCenter and RadioCityMusic Hall.
Considering that New York has become one of the most desired tourist attractions in the world, with a number of 54.3 million visitors in 2013, the timing for such an investment could not have been more proper.

Perfectly suited for tourist, this hotel bears 6,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center with a fantastic view on the 35 floor (yes, floor-to-ceiling windows) and an outdoor sundeck. The floor to ceiling windows can also be found in some of the rooms, making the a tourist delight for those passionate about breathtaking views.
