Book Your Trip Right and Pay Just $19 for the Auto Train with Amtrak

Amtrak's newest promotion allows customers to see the world while saving money on transportation costs.

Amtrak Auto Train tickets may be purchased through the train service for as little as $19. The railway that follows the I-95 corridor has car and van parking as well as motorcycle and SUV parking. The amount does not include of course the vehicle's original purchase price.

The base charge for a vehicle is $540, while the fee for a bigger vehicle is $620. According to Amtrak, travellers may load up their cars the same way they would a bag for checked gear; they just won't have access to them until they reach their final stop.

Discounted tickets are on sale now until June 8 for summer travel between June 1 and September 4. The line connects the Auto Train Stations in Lorton, Virginia, and Sanford, Florida.

With gas prices at a national average of $3.58 per gallon as reported by AAA, the "Auto Train" ticket offer presents a chance to save money on a summer vacation. GasBuddy's trip cost calculator estimates that a typical SUV travelling a route comparable to the AutoTrain would spend $72.61 on fuel.

The coach cars on Amtrak have been refurbished with new cushions, textiles, carpets, and curtains to provide a more contemporary atmosphere for passengers. There are no middle seats in the coach section, and each row has several power outlets. Bedrooms, Suites, and a Family Bedroom are available as well as other facilities, however they are not included in the ticket price. Passengers may get free WiFi wherever on the train.
