Breeze Airways Expands Fleet with 10 More Airbus A220-300s and Shifts All Flights to A220s by 2024

Breeze Airways strengthens its commitment to enhancing air travel by adding 10 Airbus A220-300 aircraft to its order, aiming for a total transition to A220s for scheduled services by the end of 2024, underscoring the airline's growth and focus on efficiency and passenger experience.
Breeze Airways, the United States' unique 'Nice Low Cost Carrier', has officially expanded its Airbus fleet, converting options for 10 new A220-300 aircraft, elevating its total firm orders to 90, with an additional 30 options on standby. This was announced by Breeze’s Founder and CEO, David Neeleman, alongside Airbus Americas CEO, Jeff Knittel, highlighting the airline's strategy to transition exclusively to A220 aircraft for all scheduled services by year-end.
Embracing the A220 Advantage
Launching operations in May 2021 with Embraer E190 and E195 jets, Breeze quickly integrated the A220, receiving its first Airbus craft in December 2021. Currently operating 22 A220s, the airline plans to increase this number to 32 by the end of 2024, positioning Breeze as a leading A220 operator globally.
The A220 is celebrated for its spacious cabin, fuel efficiency, and reduced environmental footprint, capable of flying 3,600 nautical miles with 25% lower fuel burn and CO2 emissions per seat compared to earlier models. It's designed for the 100-150 seat market, boasting cutting-edge aerodynamics and the latest Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines, promising significant noise and NOx emissions reductions. Airbus is on track to enable its fleet for 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel usage by 2030.
Breeze's A220s, featuring a three-class seating arrangement, will soon represent the airline's entire service offering, providing passengers with one of the newest fleets in the nation, averaging less than two years old.
Expanding Horizons
Breeze's commitment to serving underserved U.S. markets with the A220's cost-effective operations has been a cornerstone of its strategy. The airline continues to add new cities and increase frequency on existing routes, bolstered by high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
In addition to expanding its fleet, Breeze is celebrating its 50th destination, Coastal Carolina Regional Airport in New Bern, NC, and introducing a first-time direct connection between Huntsville, AL, and Los Angeles, CA, exemplifying the A220's suitability for thin, long-distance routes.
Enhancements and Promotions
Breeze is finalizing the rollout of high-speed WiFi across its A220 fleet, partnering with Viasat for an enhanced inflight experience. Additionally, the airline has unveiled new flight attendant uniforms, reflecting Breeze's vibrant brand and culture.
Celebrating these milestones, Breeze is offering a 20% discount on roundtrip base fares with a special promotion, underlining its mission to provide an affordable, high-quality travel experience.
With a growing footprint, state-of-the-art fleet, and commitment to customer satisfaction, Breeze Airways is setting new standards in the low-cost airline industry, promising an exciting future for American air travel.
