British Airways Announces Direct Flights to Tbilisi, Georgia

Airlines & Airports

British Airways is set to reintroduce direct flights from London Heathrow to Tbilisi, Georgia, beginning March 30, 2025. The airline will operate four flights per week, providing enhanced connectivity for travelers from across the UK.

Seamless Connections from the UK

Customers from eight UK airports, including Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, and Newcastle, can connect seamlessly through Heathrow to reach Tbilisi on a single ticket. The flight schedule is designed to facilitate onward connections to major US destinations, such as New York.

Exploring Georgia

Located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Georgia is celebrated for its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. Tbilisi, the capital, lies along the Mtkvari River and is surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains, attracting visitors with its charming cobbled streets and diverse cuisine. The region's ancient winemaking traditions and UNESCO World Heritage sites further enhance its appeal to travelers.

Flight and Cabin Options

British Airways will offer two cabin choices on every flight: Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy). Euro Traveller customers will receive a complimentary drink and snack, while Club Europe passengers will enjoy lounge access, a full meal service, priority boarding, and an increased baggage allowance.

Statements from Airline Officials

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, expressed excitement about the new route: “We’re delighted to welcome Tbilisi back into our route network, after our last scheduled service in 2013. We expect this to be a popular route with both leisure travelers and those visiting friends and family.”

Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, noted the significance of British Airways entering the Georgian market, stating, “This will significantly boost Georgia’s awareness within the UK market and improve connectivity with the USA.”
