easyJet has opened a cutting-edge operations Integrated Control Centre (ICC) in Luton, designed to manage around half a million flights annually. The new centre features advanced AI tools to enhance decision-making processes, ultimately improving customer experience.
AI Integration for Enhanced Operations
The new ICC employs AI technology, such as the generative AI tool Jetstream, which provides instant access to policies, procedures, and information to solve operational issues swiftly. Plans are underway to extend this technology to pilots and crew, aiding real-time decision-making.
Streamlining Operations
With over 250 specialists working 24/7, the ICC manages more than 340 easyJet aircraft, transporting up to 300,000 customers daily across 1,000 routes to 155 airports in 35 countries. The state-of-the-art facility includes roles ranging from route planners and crewing teams to aircraft allocation and live customer communications.
Innovative Working Environment
The ICC has been thoughtfully designed to offer a calm and efficient working environment. Features include natural daylight, individual desk lighting, and a new rest room with reclining chairs and dark green walls, promoting relaxation and focus.
