Emirates Enhances Services for Ramadan Observers with Special Offerings

Airlines & Airports

Emirates introduces special meal boxes, traditional Ramadan dishes in lounges, and religious content on ice for passengers observing Ramadan, emphasizing the spirit of togetherness and generosity.

Emirates Celebrates Ramadan with Customized Offerings for Fasting Passengers

In alignment with the Holy Month of Ramadan's spirit of unity and generosity, Emirates is set to enrich the travel experience for fasting passengers. The airline will provide thousands of specially designed meal boxes both onboard and at boarding gates, alongside screening an assortment of religious content and beloved TV shows on its ice entertainment system. Additionally, Emirates' lounges at Dubai International Airport (DXB) will feature traditional Ramadan refreshments including Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee, catering to the unique needs and preferences of observers during this sacred period.

Highlighting its dedication to cultural sensitivity, Emirates lounges will also offer traditional dishes suited for Ramadan, such as Arabic mixed grill, chicken kabsa, and a variety of Arabic desserts. Prayer rooms and ablution facilities further ensure a serene environment for worship.

For those breaking their fast, Emirates will distribute complimentary iftar boxes at select boarding gates, thoughtfully assembled to include essentials like water, laban, a banana, and dates. To maintain the highest accuracy for imsak and iftar timings during flights, Emirates utilizes a sophisticated tool that calculates these times based on geographical data, with the captain announcing the official iftar time.

Onboard, from March 11, passengers on select flights will receive Ramadan meal boxes designed to reflect the UAE's Al Sadu weaving heritage, including a variety of light bites, sandwiches, and sweets, in addition to the usual meal service. These boxes are particularly aimed at passengers travelling for Umrah to Jeddah and Medina, who will also benefit from being able to check in a bottle of ‘ZAMZAM’ water.

Furthermore, Emirates' ice entertainment system will feature special religious content in multiple languages and popular series for the duration of Ramadan, ensuring passengers have access to meaningful and engaging content.

Emirates' comprehensive approach extends to Ramadan awareness training for its cabin crew and ground teams, highlighting the airline's commitment to understanding and respecting the cultural significance of Ramadan and ensuring all staff are equipped to provide exemplary service to fasting passengers.

This initiative by Emirates not only exemplifies the airline's commitment to accommodating the diverse needs of its passengers but also reflects its dedication to fostering a sense of community and inclusiveness during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
