Football Stadium In Sardinia To Host An Urban Spa

The Italian sports club Cagliari Calcio has hired the global spa and wellness consultant bbspa_Group to design a spa for urban visitors at the team's new stadium.
Through a partnership between Cagliari Calcio, Costim, bbspa_Group, and Snow Group, a 4,000sqm spa inspired by local old therapeutic techniques will debut beside Cagliari Arena, a stadium which may hold up to 25,000 spectators. The new facility, designed by Italian companies Manica Architecture and Sportium, will replace the old Stadio Sant'Elia, and is expected to debut in 2025–2026.
According to bbspa_Group, the goal of the stadium spa is to provide city people with easy access to wellness facilities seven days a week.
The spa will include 10 individual treatment rooms, 2 couple's rooms, 2 spa suites, and 1 Watsu room, kaolin mud and volcanic mud paths, indoor and outdoor pools, and a range of other thermal amenities, such as a luxurious sauna and a hammam.
According to bbspa_Group CEO Régis Boudon Doris, the greatest obstacle was to think of a solution that was both original and practical.
“We wanted to create a spa that would have its own sense of place, despite being in an unusual setting for a wellness facility. [...]
“Our local approach has seen us engage in an in-depth study of Sardinian culture and traditions, which has allowed us to devise a unique concept.
“The future spa will provide a wellness experience strongly imbued with Sardinia's DNA and make it possible for the whole world to tap into the wellness secrets of this land”, the CEO added.
The Regional Council of Sardinia has contributed €50 million to the new arena plan. During the course of four years, this funding will be distributed in stages. Snow Group Italia will be in charge of operations at the spa.
With the exception of when there are football games on, the spa facility will be open every day of the week.
