Hilton Opens New All-Inclusive Resort in the Dominican Republic
Hilton (NYSE HLT) announced yesterday the signing of an agreement to manage the first Curio Collection property in Dominican Republic.
The new-build Zemi Miches all-inclusive resort, Curio Collection, Hilton. The new all-inclusive resort, located north of Punta Cana, in the coastal city of Miches will welcome visitors to an area that is known for its beautiful beaches, expansive mountain landscapes, and lush natural surroundings. Zemi Hotels & Resorts S.R.L. owns the property. Hilton will manage the property.
The signing of the Zemi Miches All-Inclusive resort, Curio Collection, by Hilton, which is expected to open in 2024, as Hilton's tenth all-inclusive hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America, cements Hilton’s plan to almost triple its portfolio in Dominican Republic in the next five year. Hilton has five hotels currently open in the Dominican Republic and nine other projects are in various stages in the country.
"The signing of Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton is a momentous addition to our robust pipeline in the broader Caribbean, where we have nearly 30 Hilton properties operating across the region and approximately 30 hotels in development," said Pablo Maturana, vice president, development, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton. "As we work to double our Caribbean portfolio and nearly triple our presence in the Dominican Republic, we are proud to work alongside visionary owners who share our values and support responsible tourism to incredible destinations like Miches."
The beachfront property, located approximately 60 miles away from Puntacana International Airport on a half mile stretch of the pristine Esmeralda Beach, will feature 502 guestrooms spread over six four-story building and 18 beach bungalows. The resort will feature 123 swim-up rooms on the ground floor, each with a plunge pool. These are connected by a spiraling pool that allows guests to swim between different areas.
"Curio Collection by Hilton seeks to immerse guests in the world's most sought-after destinations and the upcoming Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection is no exception," said Jenna Hackett, brand leader, Curio Collection by Hilton. "Miches is a newer eco-destination, home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Dominican Republic, and the resort will be a true destination in and of itself, sitting on approximately 800 meters of beachfront and offering an array of carefully curated food and beverage outlets and amenities. We look forward to welcoming guests to an elevated, one-of-a-kind all-inclusive experience backed by Hilton's signature hospitality."
The hotel's minimalist design will be inspired by the unique landforms of the coast, and the natural colors and textures that represent the destination. The four-story building blends harmoniously with the surrounding environment. The design plan includes neutral wood and stonework as well as lush greenery and soft interior shades.
"We are incredibly proud to be working with Hilton and together, introduce the first all-inclusive Curio Collection by Hilton resort to the Dominican Republic," said Frank Elias Rainieri, president and CEO, Zemi Hotels & Resorts, S.R.L. "With Hilton's more than a century of leading hospitality experience and our one-of-a-kind resort development, we look forward to being the first choice of travelers seeking an elevated and authentic all-inclusive experience in the eco-friendly, untouched town of Miches."
The Curio Collection Zemi Miches All-Inclusive resort will be part of Hilton Honors - the guest loyalty program that has won awards for Hilton's 19 brands. It will also offer guests a variety of entertainment and amenities, including a kids club, night club, and retail shops. The nine food and beverage options include Asian, Taino Italian, seafood, an all-day breakfast buffet, lobby bar and sports bar.
The oceanfront resort is committed to wellness and health. It will feature a large pool complex, complete with a water park and a juice bar. The dedicated spa building boasts ten treatment rooms and a beauty shop, as well as an indoor pool, a sauna, whirlpool, and an outdoor yoga and meditation terrace.
The resort will offer 15,000 square feet indoor and outdoor flexible meeting and event space.
