Israel issues travel advisory for Europe

The latest warning comes due to concerns that terror organizations “are highly motivated to carry out terrorist attacks all over the world”.
The National Security Council’s Counterterrorism Bureau has warned Israeli travelers looking to spend the last days of their summer holidays abroad about the danger of terror attacks, especially if heading towards Western and Northern Europe.
The travel warnings come after intelligence reports confirmed that Jewish citizens are targets for the Islamic State, as the “war of survival” is expected to expand in the near future.
Tourists visiting Turkey, Jordan, southern Philippines, Western and Northern Europe are urged to remain vigilant around public events, crowded hot-spots, museums, shopping buildings, hotels, restaurants and religious institutions.
“At this time, terror organizations, especially the Islamic State, are highly motivated to carry out terrorist attacks all over the world,” the Israeli Counterterrorism Bureau’s statement quotes.
In addition, a Level 1 travel warning is issued for the Sinai Peninsula, a destination that is considered to be the most dangerous for Israeli holidaymakers, as the last major incident happened last spring. The warning is the highest level advisory issued by the institution, due to the threat in the area is estimated to be “very concrete”. Moreover, Israeli citizens are advised to evacuate the peninsula as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, mainland Egypt faces a Level 3 warning.
Israeli law prohibits its citizens from traveling to Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
