KLM Expands Summer Network with New Routes and Increased Frequencies for 2025

KLM will operate flights to 161 destinations this summer, with 95 destinations in Europe and 66 intercontinental routes. The summer schedule runs from March 30, 2025, to October 25, 2025, marking a 4% growth in seat capacity compared to the summer schedule of 2024. Despite this growth, KLM will operate at approximately 90% of its intercontinental capacity due to long delivery times for aircraft parts and a shortage of pilots.
New Intercontinental Routes and Increased Frequency
KLM is expanding its intercontinental network with three new destinations this summer:
- San Diego (United States)
- Georgetown (Guyana)
- Hyderabad (India)
Additionally, KLM will continue to fly to Portland (United States), which was added to the network in the winter season of 2024. The airline will also see increased frequency to some existing destinations. Notably:
- Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) will be flown daily from June, up from five times a week in 2024.
- Osaka (Japan) will be served up to five times a week starting April.
- Las Vegas (United States) will be available daily, an increase from five flights per week in 2024.
- Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) continues with daily flights.
- Edmonton (Canada) will be served five times a week, increasing to six weekly flights during peak periods.
KLM will also welcome three new Boeing 787-10 aircraft to its intercontinental fleet, providing added capacity for these routes.
New European Destinations and Increased Frequencies
In Europe, KLM is introducing three new destinations:
- Ljubljana (Slovenia)
- Exeter (United Kingdom)
- Biarritz (France)
Additionally, KLM is shifting its Milan flights to Linate Airport, offering better proximity to the city center. Flights to Malpensa Airport will be canceled. The airline is also deploying its new Airbus A321neo more frequently, doubling the fleet from five to ten aircraft for the summer season.
Increased Frequency to Popular European Cities
KLM is increasing the frequency of flights to several key European destinations:
- Belfast (United Kingdom): twice a day
- Porto (Portugal): four times a day
- Barcelona (Spain): extra daily flight
- Split (Croatia): two times a day during spring and autumn
- Krakow and Poznan (Poland): Additional flights to both destinations
As a result of these frequency increases, KLM will offer almost 25% more seats to Portugal and Croatia compared to the summer schedule of 2024.
Strengthening KLM’s Position in Global Travel
With these changes, KLM continues to solidify its position as a leader in air travel, particularly in intercontinental and European routes. The airline’s expanded network, along with an increase in seat capacity, will offer travelers even more convenient and affordable travel options, contributing to the growth of the global tourism market.
