Marriott International to open five Moxy hotels in Europe this year

Munich, Eschborn, Berlin, Oslo and Aberdeen will be the next key European cities to welcome Moxy properties

On the occasion, Amy McPherson, director of Marriott International, Europe, stated:

“This is an exciting and pivotal moment for the Moxy brand as we move into the second phase of development with five new hotel openings this year and nine more expected in 2017.

“In 2014, Moxy Milan hit the market with a bang, as the first budget-savvy hotel brand to shake up the industry with a fun, stylish, and unexpected hospitality experience.

“We are so pleased to be able to offer this game-changing experience to more travellers in more major cities. This is just the beginning of a sensational journey for Moxy in Europe.”

The new five Moxy hotels expected to opened by the end of this year will be build in partnership with Vastint Hospitality and Nordic Hospitality. Each of the hotels will feature wide lobbies and lounges, free Wi-Fi, libraries, plug-in zones, key-less entries, motion-sensor lighting and photo booth elevators to make the stay of the guests as entertaining as possible.

Part of the brand expansion plan to reach 150 hotels within the next decade, the five European properties will complement the two recent Moxy openings in Tempe, Arizona and New Orleans, Louisiana, US.
