Melia Rebrands Punta Cana Resort: From Falcon's to Paradisus
The Falcon's Resort by Melia, All Suites Punta Cana will reflag as the Paradisus Grand Cana on Jan. 15.
On January 15, the Falcon's Resort by Melia, All Suites Punta Cana will undergo a rebranding to become the Paradisus Grand Cana. This change comes after an evaluation of market response and brand strength, as noted by Melia Hotels International COO Andre Gerondeau. He highlighted that Paradisus is perceived more positively and has greater growth potential.
Originally known as the Paradisus Grand Cana, the property was revamped and relaunched early in 2023 as Falcon's Resort by Melia. This was part of a collaboration between Melia Hotels International and Falcon's Beyond, an entertainment development firm. The resort's rebranding was intended to align with Falcon's Katmandu Park Punta Cana, a neighboring theme park, creating a unique 'resortainment' experience.
However, Gerondeau acknowledged that the introduction of the Falcon's Resort concept provided valuable insights. Despite the rebranding, the association with Katmandu Park will continue in the Paradisus hotels in Punta Cana. Notably, the Paradisus Grand Cana will feature 108 special "Katmandu Experience" swim-up suites among its 432 accommodations, offering guests enhanced amenities and complimentary access to Katmandu Park Punta Cana.
Furthermore, Gerondeau revealed Melia's ongoing expansion in Punta Cana. Plans are in place to commence construction on a new Zel-branded property in May. The Zel brand, a collaboration between Melia and tennis star Rafael Nadal, was launched in late 2022 with its first establishment in Mallorca.
The Paradisus Grand Cana and the upcoming Zel project form part of a larger complex in Punta Cana, which includes the Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort, Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort, and Melia Caribe Beach Resort.
