New Direct Flight Route from Düsseldorf to Kajaani Announced by Eurowings

Eurowings will start operating direct flights from Düsseldorf to Kajaani Airport in January 2025, boosting connectivity for Finland's Kainuu region. The service, running on Saturdays, enhances regional accessibility.
Eurowings, the German airline, has announced the launch of a new direct flight route from Düsseldorf, Germany, to Kajaani Airport in Finland. This development is set to significantly enhance the connectivity of Finland's Kainuu region with Central Europe. Scheduled to commence in January 2025, the flights will operate once a week on Saturdays, bridging a vital connection between the two regions.
Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President responsible for route development at Finavia, the Finnish airport operator, expressed enthusiasm over the new route. "The Eurowings route from Central Europe to Kajaani is a much-desired addition to our airport's route network," Vuori stated. He highlighted the importance of direct international routes for the accessibility of both the region and Finland as a whole. Finavia, along with its regional partners, has been dedicated to enhancing connections to support the area's accessibility and economic growth.
The service, which will run from 18 January to 22 March 2025, will be operated using the 150-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers. Travelers looking to visit Kajaani or explore the scenic Kainuu region can now book their tickets directly through the Eurowings website.
This initiative is part of Eurowings' broader strategy to connect Finland with Germany more efficiently. As a member of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings has been operating six direct routes from Germany to various Finavia-managed airports this winter, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing bilateral ties between the countries and boosting tourism and business travel.
