Radisson Hotel Group Initiates 'Diversity Week' to Empower Inclusivity and Equity

In a pioneering initiative that highlights its commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace, Radisson Hotel Group has announced the launch of its inaugural Diversity Week. Coinciding with this year's International Women's Day theme, "Inspire Inclusion," the event underscores the Group's dedication to celebrating and promoting diversity among its over 70,000 team members across more than 146 nationalities.

Starting today, Radisson Hotel Group embarks on a week-long celebration, from 4th to 8th March 2024, aimed at advancing dialogue and understanding around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the hospitality industry. The Group's global workforce, which spans 1,320 hotels and 15 regional offices, will engage in a series of activities and discussions focusing on a variety of DEI themes. These include leadership journeys of senior female executives, bias prevention, equitable compensation, and fostering a sense of belonging across all levels of the organization.

Highlighting the week's activities, Radisson Hotel Group will also introduce its first Employee Resource Groups, offering team members a platform to further involve themselves in DEI efforts. The Diversity Week will culminate in a global celebration of International Women's Day on 8th March, reinforcing the Group's commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.

Iñigo Capell, Executive Vice President & Global Chief People and Resources Officer, expressed the Group's ethos, stating, "At Radisson Hotel Group, we are devoted to nurturing a culture where diversity is celebrated, and every team member feels valued and included. Our ranking as the World’s 3rd Best Employer in the Travel & Leisure industry by Forbes is a testament to our efforts in creating an environment that respects and appreciates the unique perspectives of all our team members."

In alignment with its DEI strategy, Radisson Hotel Group has set ambitious targets for gender parity, aiming for 50% women in leadership roles by 2030. With current female leadership standing at 32%, the Group has seen a significant increase in women's representation at both hotel and corporate levels since 2018. Efforts to achieve this goal include the establishment of dedicated talent pools for identifying potential female leaders, the launch of the Spotlight sponsorship program, and a comprehensive review of rewards packages to address the gender pay gap.

These initiatives are part of Radisson Hotel Group's broader commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry, striving to offer meaningful career opportunities and foster an environment where diversity and inclusion are integral to its global success. As the Group continues to expand, it remains dedicated to being a leading employer, with plans to introduce more innovative career development programs and initiatives throughout 2024.
