Japan's Aichi prefecture aims to boost “warlord tourism” by full-time hiring six people to play ninja roles

Good physical shape and acrobatic skills are required for the advertised jobs that will receive a ¥180,000 a month pay. Stage performance skills and radio and TV PR activities will also be mandatory for attendees, Satoshi Adachi declared for the AFP.

According to the job description, ideal candidates should "enjoy being under the spotlight even though he or she is a secretive ninja", should have good proficiency in both English or Japanese and a passion for tourism.

Winners will benefit specialized training by the end of April and will perform in Nagoya Castle and possibly other strategic hot-spots. Applications will close on 22 March.

Ninjas originate from the 15th Century and were mercenaries highly trained in espionage, assassination and sabotage. Legends surround these ancient warriors, who are today considered to be a historical phenomenon. With this new project, this time Japan bets on history to boost the country's tourism, as it will host 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
