SWISS Introduces ‘SWISS Senses’ for a Revamped Long-Haul Travel Experience

Starting March 5, 2025, SWISS passengers in Economy and Premium Economy Class will experience a brand-new inflight service as part of the airline’s ‘SWISS Senses’ concept. This innovative service introduces a comprehensive overhaul of the long-haul flight experience, with upgrades to the food and beverage offerings, comfort items, and a redesigned cabin interior.
New Inflight Dining and Service Enhancements
One of the standout features of the SWISS Senses concept is an expanded food and beverage offer designed to engage all the senses. Upon reaching cruising altitude, both Economy and Premium Economy guests will be treated to a welcome aperitif, accompanied by a Sbrinz cheese appetizer, inspired by Switzerland's beloved ‘apéro’ culture. The main meals have also been upgraded with new culinary creations, and the pre-landing meal will now be served in a reusable bento box or on a tray for added convenience.
For those seeking a more varied experience, SWISS is introducing additional in-flight snacks and offering a wider selection of beverages, including a Swiss red wine and Rivella, a traditional Swiss soft drink. Meals in Economy Class will be served on modern black re-usable tableware to further align with the airline’s sustainability goals.
A Sensory Experience: Signature Fragrance and Comfort Upgrades
The SWISS Senses concept goes beyond food with sensory touches designed to enhance relaxation. Customers can now enjoy the signature fragrance of Alpine Valley, created exclusively for SWISS in collaboration with Soeder, a Zurich-based company. This fragrance will be available in lavatories as soap, hand lotion, and facial spray, combining larch, citrus, and herbal notes for a refreshing touch of Swiss nature mid-flight.
New bedding items, including soft pillows and blankets made from recycled materials, are designed for a restful sleep experience, aligning with SWISS Senses’ focus on comfort. Passengers will also enjoy upgraded headphones for an enhanced audio experience during their inflight entertainment.
A Redesigned Cabin Experience
In addition to the new services, SWISS Senses introduces updated seats and a complete cabin redesign across SWISS’s intercontinental aircraft fleet. These changes are part of the airline’s broader effort to create a sensory-rich travel environment that enhances the overall passenger experience.
Heike Birlenbach, SWISS Chief Commercial Officer, commented:
“The introduction of ‘SWISS Senses’ represents one of our biggest service investments to date. We are confident that these enhancements will elevate the air travel experience for both our Economy and Premium Economy Class passengers, blending Swiss hospitality with innovative design to create an atmosphere that’s both luxurious and comfortable.”
The ‘SWISS Senses’ concept ensures that all passengers will enjoy an air travel experience that appeals to their senses, combining comfort, convenience, and sustainability for a truly remarkable journey.
