
The Village Were Cars Are Not Allowed

Due to the spectacular landscapes, the enchanting Dutch village of Giethoorn has earned the title of the "Dutch Venice" which includes a multitude of houses arranged along the channel, but also a wide variety of museums and restaurants which can be reached by boats.
The Business Insider publication has collected impressive photos of this famous tourist destinations achieved in different seasons and locations in the so called Little Dutch Venice, presenting them as the most beautiful places to visit when you get in there. In the village of Giethoorn, located in Overijssel, a province in eastern Netherlands, the most decibels are produced by the free ducks or other birds, nothing unusual considering how much water is in this location. Village name comes from the discovery of the first inhabitants of hundreds of goat horns (ngietehorens in Dutch), remaining after a flood in the tenth century.
Whether browsing the channels in summer or winter skating on them, tourists are very satisfied with everything this majestic has to offer.
The village is famous for replacing the streets with canals that help both locals and tourists alike to connect to the main attractions of the destination and other facilities.
Activities such as surfing the channels are extremely popular, as the canoe boats are being used as means of transport, besides "whisper" boats of whose motors are quiet. Even the postman delivers the mail by boat. Hundreds of bridges are connecting the homes placed on one side and on the other of the channel and lead to streets filled with art galleries and souvenir shops.
