Thomas Cook Airlines launches Tobago flights

News

The inaugural Manchester-Tobago flight marked the 17th long haul route, as Thomas Cook Airlines just became the largest carrier to the USA.

Celebrated with a carnival atmosphere at the departure gate, the Tobago inaugural flight marks the beginning of a service heading to an amazing exotic destination. UK holidaymakers, as well as travelers worldwide, can now enjoy Tobago’s unique hotels and beaches, exquisite music and culinary habits of the island, with direct connections from Manchester.

With the occasion of the launch, the airliner’s Director of Sales and Planning, Henry Sunley, declared: “This is such an amazing day for our customers who want some luxurious winter sun. Furthermore, our sister airline Condor, also started a new route from Munich to Tobago and Barbados this weekend. This new route perfectly complements the Thomas Cook Group Airlines routes from Frankfurt and Manchester.”

In response, Stephen Turner, commercial director at Manchester Airport, added: “It’s great to see Thomas Cook Airlines starting another long haul route from Manchester. Tobago is a beautiful island and the ideal destination for those looking for some winter sun. We’re confident it will prove hugely popular with the 22 million people in our catchment area.”

Located within the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, southeast of Grenada, the 300sqm luxuriant island is known for its enormous sandy beaches and the tropical rain-forest climate. Rich in biodiversity and culture, Tobago offers its guests a unique Caribbean experience. Apart from the perfect accommodations on the island, visitors can enjoy local festivals, water sports and bird watching activities. History enthusiasts will find here the 18th-century ruins of Fort King George.
