Introduced just two years ago, the Fleet Cruise Director position has rapidly become integral to Carnival's operations, with Weigand being the fourth to be promoted into this role. Celebrating her promotion, Weigand shared her excitement on social media, "It’s a-boat time I shared some news...I am beyond thrilled to begin the next step of my Carnival career as Fleet Cruise Director!”
Weigand's journey with Carnival began in April 2015, advancing from the entertainment staff to a cruise director role in November 2018. She has significantly contributed to the onboard entertainment across several ships, including Carnival Spirit, Carnival Sunrise, and Carnival Horizon, among others. Known for her dedication and passion, Weigand's promotion is a testament to her impactful leadership and commitment to enhancing the guest experience.
As Fleet Cruise Director, Weigand will focus on training and mentoring new cruise directors, developing innovative activities and programs, and conducting staff assessments. This shore-based role allows for flexibility in supporting the entire fleet, ensuring Carnival's entertainment offerings continue to evolve and excel.
Weigand joins the ranks of other esteemed Fleet Cruise Directors, such as Mike Pack, Chris “Donkey” Salazar, and Chris “The Flying Scotsman” Williams, each bringing their unique talents to the position. Her pioneering role as the first female Fleet Cruise Director underscores Carnival's dedication to diversity and inclusion within its leadership ranks.
In her new capacity, Weigand will also participate in promotional events, exemplified by her recent involvement in Times Square's New Year’s Eve celebrations to usher in 2024. Her promotion reflects Carnival Cruise Line's ongoing commitment to fostering talent from within and enhancing the cruising experience for guests across the globe.
