Waldorf Astoria to launch in Malaysia

Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur will join the other properties launched by Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts in Asia Pacific, as part of the brand’s expansion strategy. The new hotel will be owned by Tradewinds Corporation Berhad and operated by Hilton.

Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Asia and Australasia at Hilton, commented with the occasion:

“After many years of shared success, we are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Tradewinds Corporation Berhad to launch Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts’ first hotel in Malaysia. As one of Asia’s key gateway cities, Kuala Lumpur, and to a larger extent, Malaysia, has always been a priority market for Hilton.

“Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur is a fantastic addition to our suite of brands in this cosmopolitan city, and we look forward to further expanding our footprint as we welcome more guests with Hilton’s award-winning signature hospitality.”

Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur will feature 279 luxury suites, five restaurants, a wellness centre, several meeting spaces and a generous ballroom.

The hotel will be located near Pavilion Mall and Suria KLCC, in the famous Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment hub, in close vicinity to KL Central station and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Construction is expected to start later this year and end in 2024.
