Qatar Airways, FIFA World Cup's official carrier, marks the opening of the month-long football event

The airline is set to celebrate the highly-anticipated tournament via unique soccer-themed experiences across the arenas and areas dedicated to football fans.
In addition to a world-class football infrastructure, a five-star airport expansion, and a variety of entertaining tourist sites and cultural activities, the amenities for the event are projected to draw 1.5 million spectators.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, declared on the occasion of the World Cup’s inauguration:
“The countdown is complete, and after more than a decade, our dream of bringing the world together has truly come alive. We have witnessed a spectacular opening ceremony, one that is truly worthy of honouring the greatest show on Earth.
“We have 63 more matches ahead of us and I am sure every single one of them will be an unforgettable experience. We are excited to give the world a taste of Arab hospitality and share our passion for connecting the world through travel and sport.”
Recently, the World's Best Airline debuted a FIFA World Cup campaign song aboard planes landing in Qatar, as they dedicated the anthem to fans all around the world. The song "C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S." is performed by Cheb Khaled and DJ Rodge and has already been seen millions of times across all of the airline's main platforms.
When visitors arrive at any of the eight stadiums on the day of a match, they are encouraged to enjoy a variety of activities that are suitable for the whole family in the stands sponsored by Qatar Airways. Football supporters who are residing in Qatar for the duration of the games are encouraged to check out the Qatar Airways Skyhouse, which can be found at the FIFA Fan Festival in Al Bidda Park, in the vicinity of Corniche in Doha, featuring a QVerse virtual tour of the carrier's business class, a swing photo booth, as well as interactive football games. Guests will also be entertained in the fan zone by a lineup that includes not just musicians from across the world but also local performers.
In addition, Qatar Airways has formed a partnership with the social media site 433 "The Home of Football" and will broadcast former soccer players' post-match analysis.
A sticker honoring the FIFA World Cup will be displayed on each of the 120 aircraft in Qatar Airways' fleet for the entire duration of the competition. The aircraft that have been uniquely tagged include 48 Boeing 777s, 31 Boeing 787s, 21 Airbus A320s, 12 Airbus A330s, and eight Airbus A380s. Moreover, the official FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 livery has been hand-painted on three specially branded Boeing 777 airplanes.
Qatar Airways made public its intention of becoming FIFA's Official Airline back in 2017. The carrier had also endorsed a number of different football competitions, including the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the FIFA Women's World Cup.
