Ramadan 2024: UAE reveals potential Eid Al Fitr dates
Based on the Hijri Islamic calendar, we are presently in the month of Safar. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, head of the Emirates Astronomy Society, has predicted that the first day of the month after Safar, Rabi Al Awwal, would fall on September 16.
According to astronomical calculations, Ramadan 2024 will begin in the middle of the month. The 10th of April is probably going to be the day of the Islamic holiday Eid Al Fitr.
Dates are calculated using the Islamic Hijri calendar, which depends on observations of the crescent Moon. Islamic months may have either 29 or 30 days, in contrast to the fixed 30 days of the Gregorian calendar.
For Muslims all throughout the globe, Ramadan is the holiest month of the year. Throughout this time, religious people fast from eating and drinking throughout the day in order to honour God, improve their character traits like self-control and gratitude, and show mercy to those in need. They spend more time in prayer and study of the Holy Quran. Muslims start fasting before sunrise, before the call to Fajr (morning) prayer, and break their fast at the time of the Maghrib prayer.
During the Holy Month, the United Arab Emirates becomes more spiritual. As Muslims fast throughout the day, the working day is reduced and the school day is unwinding.
At the end of Ramadan, on the first day of Shawwal, Muslims throughout the world celebrate Eid Al Fitr. A morning prayer, a special meal, and sweets are all part of the festivities, as is the act of generosity known as Zakat Al Fitr.
