Skywise data platform launched by Airbus

The new aviation platform was introduced at Paris Air Show 2017 by Airbus and Palantir Technologies.
Major aviation players can now improve their performances via Skywise, the integrated system boosting industrial operations, aircraft designs, and technical and flight service support, by gathering multiple sources industry data into one single cloud-based platform.
This way, the collection of the data integrated into the platform will help the industry operators improve their businesses and decide on future infrastructure investments . The shared cloud will include reports on disruptions, aircraft monitoring, technical information, post-flight pilot reporting, maintenance and more.
“Together with Palantir, we are already realising major business value from data previously hidden within our own operations. Now with Skywise we are taking this relationship to the next level by offering its advantages to the aviation industry. We’ve seen its power in our own operations, and Airbus is convinced of its huge potential to bring value to our customers and industry partners, as the new ‘beating heart of aviation’,” explained Marc Fontaine, digital transformation officer at Airbus.
With the occasion of the inauguration event, held during Paris Air Show 2017, the CEO of Palnatir Technologies replied:
“Our relationship began with a focus on Airbus-internal operations – manufacturing, engineering, and services – and we’re expanding now to bring this same analytical acumen directly to airlines. The potential for collaboration between the world’s top engineering firm, Airbus, its airline customers, and Palantir’s software is unprecedented.”
Skywise will cumulate the know-how of 20.000 Airbus engineers and will provide new tailored insights on the aircrafts, suppliers and companies.
