The Bakraoui Brothers Target Was the Nuclear Power Plant

The Belgian authorities have managed to avoid a more serious scenario by annihilating part of the terrorist cell on the Forest district in Brussels and by arresting Abdeslam Salah and his accomplice Choukri in Molenbeek district, La Derniere Heure reports on Thursday (DH)
According to the Belgian newspaper, the authorities forced the cell that caused the attacks to accelerate their plan and not to be able to destroy their target that included nuclear power plants in Belgium.
According to DH information, the two people who have put a hidden camera in front of the residence of the director of the belgian nuclear research program were brothers Ibrahim and Khalid El Bakraoui. They installed the camera shortly after the attacks in Paris in November 2015. The video containing about ten hour records was confiscated in December from one of the suspects of the Paris attacks, Mohamed Bakkal. The camera traced the comings and goings of the director of the nuclear program.
After the video's examination the investigators understood that the terrorists targets were likely to endanger national security more than ever, La Derniere Heure reports. Following the whereabouts of this information on February 17, a total number of 140 soldiers were posted at nuclear power plants in the country to ensure security. DH speculates that this could lead the terrorists to change their plans and aim for easier targets, such as a subway station or an airport.
The investigation came to a certainty, the newspaper writes. One and the same cell committed the attacks in Paris and Brussels, a group led by young Belgians, most of whom fought in Syria. Najim Laachraoui and brothers Ibrahim and Khalid El Bakraoui are authors of the most serious assault in the Belgian history.
