The newest Carnival Cruise Line ship will not be sailing in 2023 for five trips

News

Customers who have already paid for the already suspended cruises will be contacted by the company's representatives.

Due to construction delays, Carnival Cruise Line has postponed the debut voyages of its newest vessel. Unfortunately, owing to construction delays and distribution network difficulties, Carnival had to postpone the launch of its new Carnival Jubilee ship from October 2023 to early December 2023.

This forced Carnival to postpone the first six trips planned for the new carrier, along with a transatlantic crossing from Southampton to Galveston. Therefore, the maiden voyage of the Carnival Jubilee will depart from Galveston, Texas, on December 23, 2023. In addition, five Caribbean departures from Galveston were suspended. Customers who have already paid for these now-cancelled cruises will be informed about the changes.

President of Carnival Cruise Line Christine Duffy released a statement saying:

“This is disappointing news, but with the notification from the shipyard, we are advising our guests as quickly as we can.

“We appreciate their understanding as we work to deliver another spectacular ship that will provide a vacation experience our guests deserve and will absolutely love.”

The Texas-based Carnival Jubilee, an Excel-class vessel, can carry more than 5,400 passengers. The ship will include a three-level atrium that looks out over the ocean and can be transformed into a nighttime event arena; it will also have the company's BOLT roller coaster on its upper deck and innovative designs for guest rooms and cabins.

It is anticipated that the ship would provide seven-day voyages in the western Caribbean, including stops in in-demand locales such as Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan.

Following the Mardi Gras and the Carnival Celebration, this vessel will be the group's third Excel-class vessel.
