The three safest countries in the world are Canada, Denmark, and Iceland
An insurance agency for international travel recently ranked 29 locations across the globe on safety and found the safest destinations in the world.
According to studies and rankings conducted by Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, Reykjavik, Iceland is the safest city on the globe. The scores are based on data from the Economist's Safe Cities index, GeoSure Global's city ratings, and Numbeo's Crime Index in addition to the opinions of travellers who have been to 29 of the world's most popular travel destinations for both work and personal trips.
Carol Mueller, vice president of Berkshire Hathaway, said that even the safest communities may have unanticipated challenges.
“While the cities and countries on our list are notable for their safety, you never know what will happen when embarking on your travels — from flight mishaps and missing luggage to medical emergencies”, Mueller commented.
Security of travel in 42 countries was also examined by the company. The Netherlands tops the list for safest countries, followed by Denmark and Iceland. When it came to international rankings, Iceland topped the list in 2021.
Russia has been named the world's most dangerous nation for 2022. Both Brazil and India have poor safety rankings, coming in at number 41 and number 40, accordingly, while the United States occupies the 17th position.
Berkshire Hathaway suggests that travellers should as well look at past ratings to get a more accurate perspective on the present situation, as although numbers can't predict the future, they can help guide one's travel decisions in a safer direction.
