The regulations go even further, as for example tourists planning to spend eight days in Hong Kong will be submitted to no less than 12 tests — four PCR and eight rapid antigen tests, and if the result is positive they will be asked to isolate themselves for a minimum of 7 days. Community facilities are available for infected visitors.
According to the new rules, before departure, travellers above 12 years of age have to: test themselves for Covid-19 by using a rapid antigen test and officially report the results, get a health QR code to be presented to the authorities, present full vaccination proof or a valid medical exemption certificate. Following the arrival, tourists will take an airport PCR test, followed by more PCR tests every two days and daily rapid antigen tests for the first week of stay.
Authorities have asked travellers to self-monitor the entire visit period and to avoid public gatherings or crowded facilities in order to limit the spread of the infection.
