United Airlines Expands Dublin-U.S. Flights for Summer 2025

Airlines & Airports

Dublin Airport is set to benefit from United Airlines' significant expansion of its nonstop services to the U.S. in summer 2025. This increase will provide the highest-ever capacity from Dublin, marking a key milestone in the airline's offerings.

Starting March 29, 2025, United Airlines will double its daily flights between Dublin and Washington D.C., from one to two daily services. Additionally, the airline will upgrade its Dublin to Chicago O'Hare seasonal service with the introduction of a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, replacing the Boeing 757-200 that previously operated this route.

Year-Round and Seasonal Services

United also provides year-round daily nonstop flights from Dublin to New York/Newark and seasonal daily nonstop services from Shannon to New York/Newark and Chicago O'Hare. With these expansions, United will offer more flights and seats from Dublin than any other U.S. airline for the summer of 2025.

Boosting Transatlantic Travel

Graeme McQueen, Head of Media Relations at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport, welcomed the news: "United's expansion is great news for passengers and demonstrates the demand for increased two-way transatlantic travel between Ireland and North America. These additional services underscore the importance of lifting the passenger cap at Dublin Airport, which would further enhance Ireland's connectivity."

McQueen added that the increased flights to Chicago and Washington will help attract more U.S. tourists to Ireland, benefiting jobs, the economy, and the hospitality industry across the country.

United Airlines' Commitment to Customer Choice

Karolien De Hertogh, Director Sales UK and Ireland for United Airlines, expressed excitement about the expanded offerings: “With this substantial increase in capacity and the expansion of our Dublin schedule, we’re thrilled to offer our Irish customers even greater travel choice for their U.S. getaways in summer 2025."

Passengers can also benefit from seamless connectivity to over 150 onward destinations across the Americas via United's hubs in New York/Newark, Chicago O'Hare, and Washington D.C.
