Which are Europe’s travel hot-spots for 2017?
The European Travel Commission has reported the fastest growing travel destinations in the continent.
There’s no surprise that Iceland has scored first in the top of the countries that registered the fastest tourism growth across Europe, with a 56 per cent higher rate.
For Iceland, this is the sixth consecutive year of increase, as since 2012 the figures indicate constant growth; and experts claim it won’t be the last, thanks to the latest movies and shows that were filmed here and brought the country in the spotlight.
Moreover, aggressive marketing campaigns highlighting the country’s unique landscape have attracted tourists eager to discover a different Europe.
Number two in the list is Montenegro, at a considerable distance. Next positions are held by Malta, Finland and Cyprus, with Finland becoming a destination that attracts the attention of Chinese tourists. The top ten is completed by Bulgaria, Portugal, Serbia, Croatia and Spain.
