A Permanent, Fully Immersive Horror Park from Universal to Open in Las Vegas

News

It will be just off The Strip, as the concept will come from the same people that brought you Halloween Horror Nights.

The new horror attraction from Universal Parks & Resorts will be a mainstay at the Las Vegas location.

From the minds behind Universal's yearly Halloween extravaganza, Halloween Horror Nights, comes a wholly original idea that will include "a variety of unique, immersive, fantastic horror-centric experiences that surround high energy food and beverage spaces by day turned haunting bars and eateries by night."

There is currently no set release date, but this will be the first permanent horror event the firm has produced and delivered.

The site is expected to be the main attraction of a newly developed 20-acre section of Area15, the art and entertainment facility located just off the Las Vegas strip and home to the renowned Meow Wolf's Omega Mart. A total of almost four million people have visited Area15 since it opened in 2020.

There will be a continually refreshed experience, "must see seasonal events," as well as unique shopping opportunities, according to Universal. 110.000 square feet will be devoted to the new Universal experience, which is described as a unique, creative supplement to AREA15's foundations in experiencing culture and entertainment.

The horror film pioneer Universal will be able to draw from its extensive library of iconic monsters and villains from films including Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, and The Wolf Man. They will work with current horror and suspense movie business trailblazers like Jason Blum, James Wan, and Jordan Peele, much as they do for their yearly Halloween Horror Nights shows.

At the same time, Universal Parks and Resorts revealed that they will be building a new theme park in Frisco, Texas. Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood is set to open on February 17, 2023, while the planned Epic Universe park at Universal Orlando Resort is also considered to be a sign of the company's expansion and success.
