Australia hosted “Rediscover Vietnam”

The event was attended by more than 80 travel firms and tour operators in Australia and was the last from the Vietnamese promotion strategy targeting many countries, such as the UK, Germany, France, the US, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Tat Thanh, bilateral arrivals reached a record high of 600.000 during 2019 and are expected to exceed these figures during the years to come, so all possible conditions for both countries to explore each other’s travel markets must be unlocked.
Truong Tran Ngoc Hung of Vietnam Airlines declared that the airline is currently operating flights to 15 international destinations, Australia included, with seven direct flights a week. In order to further boost traffic, the number of flights will be increased to 11 and even 16, in July and October respectively. The move comes after data showed a current seat occupancy rate of about 87 per cent, 8 per cent higher than before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, as Australia’s market manager Rebecca George stated, Australian travellers are beginning to show a surging interest for spending their holidays in Vietnam. At the same time, George mentioned that the easing of Vietnam’s Covid-19 regulations will considerably facilitate the growing of the country’s tourism industry.
