Car bomb violent attack in Ankara, Turkey
Following the explosion, 37 people were killed and more than 100 were wounded, according to the data released by the health ministry
The explosion happened at about 16:40 GMT on Sunday in Guven Park, Kizilay district.
Several cars and one bus were destroyed following the explosion. Ambulances rushed to the scene, as 37 people died on the spot and 125 were hospitalized. 19 of them are still in a critical condition. Two of the dead are believed to be the attackers.
Despite no group has yet claimed the attack, Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) seems to be held responsible for the violences, according to Reuters news agency.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called for an emergency meeting of the country's officials. President Tayyip Erdogan declared that such attacks "increase [Turkish] determination to fight terrorism". Interior Minister Efkan Ala stated that after the investigation will be concluded this week, the names of the terrorists will be unveiled. Ankara officials ordered a social media ban until the investigations will end, for security reasons.
Ankara faces the third attack in less than 6 months. Last month's bombing, claimed by a member of the Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK) group and declared to be a protest against Erdogan policy, killed 28 people, whilst last October over 100 people were killed in a double suicide-bombing in the Turkish capital.
