Disneyland Is About To Get A New Favourite For Pixar Fans

Entertainment

Disney has revealed the opening date for their next Pixar-themed hotel, Pixar Place - January 30, 2024.

The news comes at a pivotal moment for Disneyland, as the company has recently announced the grand opening of Pixar Place Hotel. Paradise Pier Hotel, a resort with a nautical motif and references to films like "Toy Story," is getting a makeover, as scheduled originally for the year 2022.

According to a post on the Disney Parks Blog, Pixar Place Hotel will capture the inspiration and comedy that appears into every Pixar film, while honouring the creative process. The artwork and furnishings will showcase colourful tales, displaying some never-before-seen imagery in the process.

When the renovation completes in 2024, the lobby will have been transformed into a fanciful space with a life-size replica of the Pixar Lamp perched on a giant ball. The intricate mobile will be seen by visitors from a great height.

Disney said that mobile will show how Pixar animators start off by sketching out their figures' fundamental forms and colours. Just as visitors who enter the Disneyland Resort lobby are at the start of their own adventure, so, too, are the characters they will meet.

Pillows inspired by the Pixar Ball will be among the many Pixar touches that will be added to the new design of the hotel's guest rooms, which will have a modern design and will showcase works by the animation studio's artists. The headboards will be decorated with concept art from popular movies like "Toy Story 3" and "The Incredible," sorted from warm to cold hues to emphasize the impact of colours on emotions.

Great Maple, its signature eatery, will debut in November, a month before the redesign is finished in earnest. The "upscale comfort food" at this trendy American eatery will be available for all three meals of the day. Buttermilk fried chicken, maple bacon doughnuts, and baby back ribs cooked in soda pop are just some of the scratch-made meals that diners can look forward to.

After the success of Great Maple, the hotel's rooftop pool bar, Small Bytes, will unveil a whole new menu and a brand new coffee shop - Sketch Pad Cafe.

While the hotel is undergoing renovations, guests may still enjoy the rooftop Pixar Pool, Crush's Surfin' Slide, and Pixar-themed fire pits. Later this autumn, a brand-new play area and pool bar will open.

The hotel's revamped gift store, STOR-E, will be located just off the main lobby and will sell both new and vintage Disneyland Resort products with a Pixar twist. The new and improved exercise facility will feature a massive painting of Mike and Sulley jogging on a treadmill, which was apparently inspired by "Monsters University."

Guests of the Pixar Place Hotel will get access to the Disneyland Resort's early park entry, as well as all the other benefits of staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel.
