Dubai World Trade Centre Welcomes Arabian Travel Market 2023
The 30th Arabian Travel Market will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from today.
From today, Monday 1 May, to Thursday 4 May, global travel, tourism and hospitality experts will come together to discuss how their industries are 'Working Towards Net Zero.'
ATM 2023 will open with a panel of policymakers from the region discussing the role the tourism sector plays in combating climate change. The session begins at 11:30am on the ATM Global Stage. 'Ministerial debate: How should travel tackle the climate crisis?' will include insights from Sujit Mohanty (Chief of the UNDRR Regional Office of Arab States), HE Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri (Minister of Economy, UAE), Dr Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat (Managing Director, Jordan Tourism Board), and HE Walid Nasser, Lebanon's Tourism Minister.
Claire Bennett, Global Head of Customer Service at IHG Hotels & Resorts will be participating in an extensive interview on the ATM Travel Tech Stage. ATM's new Sustainability Hub will host the "Sustainability in the Air Live Podcast Session" at 4.30pm. This will feature Shashank Nigam as the CEO and Founder of SimpliFlying in conversation with Shaenaz Voiss, the CCO of Fiji Airways, and CEO of Fiji Link.

The 'Hospitality Debate - What More Can Big Data Unlock?' will also be a highlight of the first day. Representatives from the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), General Hotel Management Pte Ltd (GHM), Marriott and Hotelbeds will take the ATM Travel Tech Stage for a discussion on how technology is facilitating an improved understanding of guests' behaviours. At the Sustainability Hub senior figures from Weeva and the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance will be exploring sustainable transformation in the session 'Responsible Hospitality For A Better World'.
ATM 2023 saw a 27% increase in exhibitor participation compared to the previous year, and growth was seen across all show sectors. ATM 2023 will unveil a sustainability pledge to mark its 30th anniversary. The pledge is designed to reinforce RX’s commitment to deliver sustainable events by using environmentally friendly materials, eliminating single-use plastics, and other innovative initiatives. The show this year will feature the first 'ATM Sustainable Stand Award,' whose results will be announced in conjunction with the ATM 2023 Best Stand Awards.
The International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), which explores trends and opportunities in the burgeoning high-end tourism industry, will return to the show this year. The International Tourism & Investment Conference, the International Congress and Convention Association and the Global Business Travel Association will all be presenting sessions.
ATM 2023 offers a variety of events, including sessions focusing on India, China, and the GCC markets, as well as a new informal platform for speed networking.
ATM's 30th anniversary will focus on the future of sustainable tourism, with a theme of "Working Towards Net Zero". The conference program will examine how innovative sustainable travel will evolve. It will allow delegates to identify key vertical sectors and explore a sustainable world ahead of COP28 in November 2023.
ATM 2023 will be held in conjunction with Dubai World Trade Centre. Its strategic partners are Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism as its Destination Partner. Emirates is the official airline partner, IHG Hotels & Resorts, as the official hotel partner, and Al Rais Travel, as the official DMC.
The 30th Edition of the Show will be open to all delegates today, May 1, and continue until Thursday, May 4.
