Iberia Expands Network with New Routes to Orlando, Recife, and Fortaleza

Iberia has announced exciting new additions to its destination network for the winter season of 2025-2026, with three new long-haul routes to Orlando, Recife, and Fortaleza. These new services are set to offer travelers more options to explore the United States and Brazil, with flights launching in late 2025 and early 2026.
New Flights to Orlando, USA
The first of Iberia's new destinations will be Orlando, Florida, with flights set to begin on October 26, 2025. The airline will operate four weekly flights from Madrid to Orlando, pending government approval. These services will be operated by the Airbus A330 aircraft, which has a capacity of 254 passengers. During the winter season, Iberia will offer more than 46,000 seats to Orlando, one of the top tourist destinations in the United States, known for its world-famous theme parks, including Disney World.
New Routes to Recife and Fortaleza, Brazil
Iberia is also focusing on expanding its presence in Brazil, with new routes to Recife and Fortaleza. The flight to Recife will begin on December 13, 2025, with three weekly frequencies, increasing to five starting in February 2026. Flights to Fortaleza will launch on January 19, 2026, initially operating three times a week, also increasing to four weekly flights in February.
Both new Brazilian destinations will be served by the state-of-the-art A321 XLR aircraft, which Iberia began using in November 2024. These narrow-body aircraft offer improved fuel efficiency, with savings of more than 40% compared to older wide-body models. The A321 XLR also provides a high level of comfort with 182 seats in Business and Economy classes.
Enhancing Iberia’s Connections to Brazil
The new routes to Recife and Fortaleza are part of Iberia’s strategy to offer more direct travel options to the Brazilian northeast. Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur, highlighted the potential for growth in the region, noting that these new routes will allow for greater access to Brazil’s vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and unique culinary experiences.
Priscila Krause, acting governor of Pernambuco, expressed excitement about the new connection between Madrid and Recife, emphasizing its potential to boost tourism and strengthen ties between Europe and Brazil.
Iberia’s Continued Expansion in Brazil
In addition to these new destinations, Iberia already serves São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, offering 14 and five weekly frequencies, respectively. With the addition of Recife and Fortaleza, the airline will be flying to four Brazilian cities, offering nearly 284,000 seats between Spain and Brazil during the 2025-2026 winter season.
Iberia’s commitment to expanding its Brazilian network is evident in its continued focus on offering convenient connections to major cities, further enhancing its presence in the Latin American market.
