Iberia Plus Becomes Club Iberia Plus with New Features and Benefits

Airlines & Airports

Iberia Plus is evolving into Club Iberia Plus to better align with modern travel habits. Starting April 1, 2025, Elite Points will now be earned based on euros spent rather than distance traveled, providing a more transparent and rewarding system for loyal customers. The program will also allow members to earn Elite Points through additional purchases, such as seat reservations and priority boarding, as well as purchases from associated brands.

New Earning Structure and More Ways to Upgrade

Under the new structure, members can earn Elite Points on various purchases, including Optimal, Comfort, and Flexible fares, with additional points earned based on route and cabin. This offers members more opportunities to upgrade to a higher status with fewer restrictions, making loyalty more accessible and rewarding.

Beatriz Guillén, Director of Global Sales and Loyalty at Iberia, explained:
“We believe this new system is a fairer and more transparent way to reward our most loyal customers. By enabling Elite Points accumulation across both airline and non-airline partners, we enhance the overall value for our members.”

A New Level: Platino Prime

The biggest addition to the program is the introduction of the Platino Prime level, which offers members additional benefits, including a higher accumulation of Avios, more opportunities for free cabin upgrades, and access to exclusive redemption campaigns. This level will be available only through euros spent, while the Platino level will offer the option to achieve it by the number of flights flown. Both Platino and Platino Prime levels will provide the equivalent of oneworld Emerald status, offering top-tier perks across oneworld airlines.

Simplified Access to Higher Levels

To make the program more accessible, Iberia has reduced the number of flights required to reach the Plata and Oro levels, with an additional pathway to Platino through the number of flights flown. This makes it easier for frequent travelers to achieve the status and enjoy the associated benefits.

Continued Earning and Redemption of Avios

The way customers earn Avios, the program’s currency, will remain unchanged. Members can continue to accumulate Avios through flights on Iberia or its partners, as well as through purchases from over 100 program partners (e.g., credit card spending, car rentals, hotel stays). Avios can be redeemed for flights, hotels, car rentals, and other leisure experiences.
