Italian hoteliers compensate disappointed tourists

News

Italian hoteliers are trying to compensate the disappointed tourists. The hoteliers from the Jesolo resort, located on the Adriatic coast, 16 kilometers from Venice, are trying to cope with a rainy start of the summer season with a special offer designed to console tourists who could not enjoy sunny days.

The offer that was launched under the name "“Tanned or Reimbursed" (abbronzati a rimborsati") reinforces the promise that if a tourist pays an additional euro every time he rents a chaise longue for the beach, if it rains, he will receive back the full amount he paid.
Important is that in the time slot between 11:00 and 15:00 the rainfall can exceed 3 millimeters, writes the British newspaper "The Independent".

"We want to be a tempting holiday destination not only for Italians but also for other tourists in Europe and worldwide. Unfortunately, the beginning of the rainfall season this year does not please anybody. We had to find a solution." declared for the local media a representative of the tourism industry.

“The growth is without a doubt due in part to geopolitical issues and security concerns. But there’s also a clear increase in demand for travel in our country,” said Giorgio Palmucci, head of Confindustria Alberghi.
