Lufthansa Group Expands Wet Lease Partnership with airBaltic

Airlines & Airports

Lufthansa Group extends its wet lease partnership with airBaltic for three more years, adding up to 21 Airbus A220-300 aircraft in summer and five in winter.

Continued Collaboration

The Lufthansa Group has announced the extension of its wet lease partnership with airBaltic for an additional three years, beginning with the 2025 summer flight schedule. This collaboration will allow for a flexible deployment of aircraft to meet seasonal travel demands.

Enhanced Aircraft Capacity

Under this agreement, Lufthansa Group airlines can utilize up to 21 fuel-efficient Airbus A220-300 aircraft during the summer months and five aircraft in the winter. This strategic move will enhance the ability to serve high-demand destinations more effectively.

Adapting to Customer Needs

With changing customer preferences, the Lufthansa Group is adapting its route networks to align with seasonal peaks, particularly during the summer timetable. The additional capacity provided by airBaltic will enable better service and improve connections to Lufthansa Group Airlines’ intercontinental flights at various hubs.

Reliability and Partnership

The wet lease agreement, which includes both aircraft and crew provision by airBaltic, underscores the successful partnership established since 2019. airBaltic, Latvia’s national airline, has demonstrated its reliability and value in supporting Lufthansa’s operational needs.
