MSC Cruises Launches New Canary Islands Itinerary for Winter 2024-25

Cruise Lines & Cruise Ships

MSC Cruises introduces a new 7-night sailing itinerary around the Canary Islands and Madeira on the MSC Opera, offering flexible embarkation and extended port stays, starting November 2024.

MSC Cruises has unveiled its plans to base the MSC Opera in the Canary Islands for the upcoming winter season of 2024-25, opening sales for this new and exciting itinerary. From November 3, 2024, to March 16, 2025, the MSC Opera will embark on 7-night voyages, touching six ports across the Canary Islands and Madeira, marking a significant update to MSC Cruises' winter offerings.

The voyage will begin in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, and make its way through Las Palmas, Gran Canaria; Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura; Funchal, Madeira; Santa Cruz de la Palma, La Palma; and Arrecife, Lanzarote, before circling back to Tenerife. This itinerary not only brings together the enchanting beauty of the Canary Islands but also includes the picturesque island of Madeira, offering travelers a rich tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and attractions to explore.

A standout feature of this new sailing route is the flexible embarkation options provided to passengers. Guests can choose to start their journey from Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Sundays, Las Palmas on Mondays, Funchal on Thursdays or Fridays, or Arrecife on Saturdays. This flexibility, combined with extended port stays of up to 16 hours, ensures that travelers have ample time to delve into the local culture, enjoy the scenic landscapes, and experience the vibrant life of each destination at a leisurely pace.

The Canary Islands and Madeira are renowned for their warm, inviting climates, especially appealing during the winter months, making them an ideal getaway for those looking to escape colder weather. The islands offer a plethora of activities and sights, from stunning beaches and historical sites to unique culinary experiences, catering to a wide range of interests and preferences.

This new itinerary is set to replace the MSC Opera’s previously planned Red Sea winter programme for 2024-25, which has been cancelled due to current shipping risks in the region. The shift to the Canary Islands and Madeira not only promises a safe and secure route but also highlights MSC Cruises' adaptability and commitment to providing unforgettable experiences to its guests.

With regular international flights to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Madeira, and Lanzarote, accessing this winter program is convenient for travelers from around the globe, ensuring that the beauty, culture, and warmth of these islands are within easy reach.
